Chengdu's Memories

Chengdu

the provincial capital of Sichuan, China

Thirty years ago, I stayed in Chengdu for about half a year from February to July 1991 for work. After that, I came to Japan and haven't been to Chengdu since.
In March 2018, I visited Chengdu again. I was deeply impressed by the huge changes in Chengdu.

Giant Panda

at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Mar. 25, 2018

The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is only 10 kilometers from downtown of Chengdu including the research base and ZOO, which is very interesting and worth a visit.

Famous Restaurant

Chen Mapo Doufu Dian

Mapo Tofu, or Mapo Doufu in Chinese, is a popular Chinese dish from Sichuan province. It consists of tofu set in a spicy sauce, typically a thin, oily, and bright red suspension, based on douban (fermented broad bean and chili paste) and douchi (fermented black beans), along with minced meat, traditionally beef. Chen Mapo Doufu Dian is famous for their Mapo Doufu and other local dishes of Sichuan.

Chengdu is famous for the long traditional history, beautiful scenery, and delicious Sichuan cuisine. If you know Zhu Ge Liang, Li Bai and Du Fu you should visit Chengdu at least once, I think.
